Northwood Area Women's Club (NAWC) is a social club that brings together women living in and around the Northwood area. We are a non-profit organisation for women of all ages and nationalities, including those living in the UK temporarily. We offer a stimulating programme of social and cultural activities, many of which are designed to give our international members a better understanding of British life and culture. More information about our activities is available here.
In the early 1970s a group of American women living in and around Northwood got together over coffee and cakes to support each other and share their interests. These get-togethers continued and became the North American Coffee Group. By the late 1970s, the group had organised more formally and established bylaws and a board. The club began meeting at St. John's Church in Hallowell Road in 1988. After a series of name changes through the years, it became the Northwood Area Women's Club in 2008 to reflect the multinational nature of the membership. Today, we have over 100 members representing more than 25 countries.
To inquire about membership, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Members receive a monthly electronic newsletter with information about upcoming events, meetings and activities.
The benefits of membership include special group rates for club-exclusive guided tours and other activities. However, the greatest benefit of membership is meeting and getting to know other members and finding your niche within the various interest groups.
The club year runs from September through June, and the membership fee is £40.00. Those joining from January pay a reduced fee of £25.00.
We invite you to attend your first meeting as our guest.
I've enjoyed the club immensely and have benefitted from it. I have met new friends, seen what London offers in many guided tours, enjoyed the book club, dancercise and speakers. To join the club is a great way to experience London and the English culture together with a mix of international and national ladies.

As a club member. I enjoy meeting ladies of all ages and nationalities. Not all ladies are from the base so we all mix in and chat together! One of the many activities I enjoy are the Out and About Outings which are great for going out as a group with a guide who takes us round parts of London so we never get lost and its good fun!

The club is very good way to meet people from other countries and to visit many interesting places that I would not know without the club. It's a great experience.

I moved permanently to Northwood two years ago after nineteen years living in France. I knew no one but in those two years I have met so many lovely ladies. I have participated in many interesting activities from Dancercise and the walking groups through to guided tours around London and of course there are also the varied speakers who entertain us at our General Meetings.
