History of the Club

The origins of our club began in the early 1970’s when a group of American women got together over coffee and cakes to support and help each other and share interests. The Northwood American Coffee Group was born. Over the years a number of name changes have taken place to reflect the need to expand the membership to maintain the viability of the club. Finally, we have now arrived at the Northwood Area Women’s Club. The name reflects the multinational membership from women living on a temporary or permanent basis in wide area of North London who are attracted to join the club. Despite the name changes the club objectives have remained broadly the same.

Our Mission...

is to provide friendship, activities and support to international and local members whilst being sensitive to matters affecting the welfare and needs of the membership and the surrounding community.
