Purpose
To enhance the quality of life for people with cancer or other life
threatening disease in South West Hertfordshire.
Mission
The Peace Hospice seeks to provide a centre of excellence offering
comprehensive and multi-disciplinary specialist palliative care without
charge and without discrimination and will:
- provide high
quality care which allows the seriously ill to live with comfort and
dignity in the setting of their choice and provide continuing
support for their families and friends through bereavement.
- offer day care,
inpatient care, home care, family support and spiritual care meeting
the physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual and social needs
of patients including practical help, information, counselling and
comfort.
- take the lead
in palliative care through education, training and good practice,
and in collaboration with other agencies, both voluntary and
statutory, will extend and raise palliative care skills in the wider
community.
- actively
campaign in support of the rights and needs of palliative care
patients and their carers.
The Peace Hospice is
