NAWC CharityAlthough our club aims to promote friendship and develop mutual interests, there is a definite charitable side to our activities and outings.We believe it is important to support the community around us and to raise funds for charitable causes. A local charity is selected and nominated each year by the NAWC members. Funds are raised through regular raffle tickets sales, fundraising events during the year, book sales, tombolas and profits from events and outings. Some charities that have already received support from our club are: Mount Vernon Cancer and Treatment Centre, The Peace Hospice and Watford New Hope Trust. This year, the NAWC will support RAFT. RAFT stands for the Restauration of Appearance and Function Trust. It is an independent, local charity that carries out pioneering research into disfigured and damaged skin such as burns, wounds, limb amputations and skin cancer. |
